Kiefer Sutherland pleaded guilty to his fourth driving while under the influence charge earlier today and is to serve a total of forty eight days in a county Jail for his alcohol induced sins. After violating his probation for the previous drink driving charge he was sentenced to eighteen days plus a further thirty days for being above the legal limit on this occasion. In addition to his jail sentence, Kiefer must also attend an eighteen month long alcohol education class. Hmm, rehab! I can certainly see that doing some good, just like it worked for Lindsay Lohan and David Hasselhoff.

In a statement on the issue, Kiefer said:

“I’m very disappointed in myself for the poor judgment I exhibited recently, and I’m deeply sorry for the disappointment and distress this has caused my family, friends and co-workers on `24′ and at 20th Century Fox.”

You’re not the only one disappointed here, think of all your adoring fans.

What scares me is the thought that he’s probably done it loads of times and not been caught out. Imagine he’d killed some poor bugger while he was pissed off his face and speeding down the street with Jack Bauer style conspiracy thoughts running through his head. It’s cringe worthy really, I can imagine some trailer trash like Britney Spears on a DUI charge but not our beloved Kiefer. I’ll admit I’ve had a bit of a soft spot for him since I first saw the film Lost Boys but despite that, I still can’t wait to see his mug shot… It’ll be up there with one of Michael ‘wacko’ Jackson!
